FHS Holds Annual Open House Our Principal Tom Lawrence along with FHS faculty and staff recently held our annual Open House. After a brief review in the main gymnasium, parents followed their student's class schedule to meet with their child's teachers in order to discuss their child's programs and curriculum.
ASU Engineering Course on FHHS Campus Arizona State University's "Engineering Analysis Tools and Techniques" is now an engineering course we are offering to you here at FHHS. Arizona State University has approved this new course for dual enrollment providing students three university credits for taking the yearlong course. Read More>>>
FHHS Senior Speaks to FH Noon Kiwanis Club Fountain Hills High School senior Nick Everetts wowed the Fountain Hills Noon Kiwanis with his U.S. Constitution speech from this summer's National American Legion Speech Contest. Nick qualified for the national competition by finishing first in the Arizona American Legion Contest. Football Scrimmage The football team opened up their season with a scrimmage against Sedona High School. The team played well and had a variety of players score touchdowns. They will begin their regular season on Friday, August 27 at Wickenburg.
Football and Cheer Teams Visit Retirement Home Members of our very own Fountain Hills HS Football and Cheer Teams visited Fountain Hills Village Retirement residents for an Ice Cream Social. The teams sang the school fight song, performed cheers, introduced team captains, and visited with the residents. Jim Fairfield coaches our football team and Kate Pruett advises our cheer squad.

Parent/Teen Underage Drinking Symposium The Fountain Hills Youth Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition presents a “Parent and Teen Symposium on Underage Drinking," on September 9. They will present speakers on the physical effects, legal ramifications, school policies, and provide parent tool box/strategies (7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.). The Coalition will award a $1000 scholarship to one FHUSD parents or teens attending from FHHS or FHMS. Student Tops in State Education Profession Program Fountain Hills Education Professions class and Fountain Hills High School Senior, Emily Stone, were recognized at the State Career Technical Education Summer Conference for having the top state score on the Education Professions program assessment. Jennifer Horen, FHUSD CTE Director, advises the Education Professions class. Fun Summer Activities If you are tired of the heat and want to meet new friends, here is the perfect solution. The Town of Fountain Hills has put together several activities for our youth to enjoy. The fun includes Wet 'n Wild, Cosmic Bowl, Party in the Park, and Amazing Jakes. We live in such a great town! At the Wednesday, August 26th Fountain Hills USD Board of Directors Work Session, Judge Ted Armbruster received the district's "Apple Pride" Award. Judge Armbruster had been instrumental in developing the very successful Ftn Hills HS Teen Court program developed eight years ago. He also was a mentor for students in the Golden Eagle ED Foundation Student Mentor program. He announced his move from Ftn HIlls for a federal judge position within the social social security hearing system.


On Tuesday, August 17th, Fountain Hills High School presented Don Hooton from the Taylor Hooton Foundation presenting on the dangers of Performance Enhancing Drugs (PEDs). All FHHS athletes and parents were required to attend. Mr. Hooton lost his son Taylor to these PEDs that are not regulated causing serious physical, emotional, and mental side effects to young females and males across the country.
